Re: To The Stars / Tom DeLonge press conference / UFO Disclosure. In “UFOs: Reframing The Debate” I wrote, “UFO Disclosure is a bit like attempting a prison break by asking the prison guards for the keys." And so to today. To The Stars Academy of “Storytelling” and “Entertainment” (their words, not mine) is a bit like the prison guards turning around and saying “OK, let’s see if you can find the keys?" Amongst the predictable national security chest-beating and military-industrial PR there were some seemingly significant statements. Semi-official confirmation that the UFO issue is real in some way? The hint/mis-speak that operational remote

Ten months ago I sat down and began to write an essay for Robbie Graham's anthology UFO's: Reframing The Debate. In that essay I was highly critical of MUFON, the largest civilian UFO research group in the world. I've had grave doubts about MUFON for years and no matter which way I chose to look at the activity that has often surrounded this highly questionable organization, I found myself pondering some rather uncomfortable thoughts. I know from many conversations with people who I have the utmost of respect for that I'm far from alone. "One has only to look at their official mission statement—The scientific study of UFOs for the benefit of mankind— and then look
Having been more than a little outspoken over the past couple of years on the current state of what passes for UFO research, this will be my final say on the UFO community, UFO Disclosure or the pantomime that is Tom De Longe's Sekret Machines franchise. See Robbie Graham's articles on the DeLonge Delusion (part 1 here), (part 2 here), with part 3 to come. I really don't need to add too much other than to say, here is the first evidence (a word seemingly alien to DeLonge, Levenda and much of the UFO subculture), that all is perhaps not what it seems. Some weeks ago DeLonge posted the following picture on his Instagram account with the words 'A real
The CIA disclose information about UFOs... but it's a load of old cobblers and the UFO disclosure movement is far from satisfied. But what can we we realistically expect given the current imbalance of power between the intelligence agencies and Washington? Time for a new hashtag at the very least. In a brilliant piece of “1984” style propaganda, the CIA has recently
I once had the fortune to hear the well known UFO skeptic and debunker, the late Philip J. Klass speak. It was at the Fortean Times Unconvention in central London in the mid 90's (the year escapes me - Google puts it at 1997, but my memory says it was '95). I'm sorry to have to report, he was a far more eloquent and animated speaker than most of those on the side of the reality of the phenomena covered. Philip Klass died on August 9th, 2005, the following curse allegedly appearing in his will. But the curse had also appeared in print years earlier in Jim Moseley's Saucer Smear zine of October 10th 1983. Incidentally, Jim Moseley was another speaker at the
